Indiana hospital pays $250K to state over knowledge breach

Seymour, Ind.-based Schneck Medical Middle has reached a $250,000 settlement with Indiana after the state filed a lawsuit towards the well being system for a 2021 cyberattack, Bloomberg Law reported Sept. 7.

Schneck, previously referred to as Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital, was sued by the state of Indiana in 2022.

The state alleged that the well being system didn’t take enough measures to guard sufferers’ well being info, even after it had data of deficiencies in its knowledge safety techniques since December 2020.
