Up to date advantages system for District of Columbia requires ID.me id verification

The District of Columbia Division of Employment Companies (DOES)  upgraded its unemployment insurance coverage (UI) advantages system, which now requires claimants to confirm their id by ID.me. The brand new model simplifies and secures the UI claims utility course of and delivers funds quicker.

Claimants and employers can now submit and request tax paperwork, file new claims and examine the standing of pending claims and appeals by a single-service portal. Claimants can login to their accounts and handle advantages by their smartphones.

ID.me permits customers to confirm their id by video-chat or in individual. As soon as verified, they will login to share their reusable identity with entities like DOES to use for advantages.

“By using innovative technology, the modernization of the UI Benefits System improves the customer experience by simplifying the application process and increasing accessibility across all populations within our community, plus it adds a robust layer of security to the process to better protect our customers’ identities,” says DOES director Dr. Distinctive Morris-Hughes.

Different U.S. authorities entities that leverage ID.me for safe id verification embody the IRS and Iowa Workforce Development.
